Who needs to take training ?
CBT training that builds real confidence — not just a certificate.
At Edventure Rider, we focus on helping you become a safe, capable rider from day one. With small groups, professional instructors, and more time on the bike, you’ll leave feeling ready for the road — not rushed through the process.
CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) is a structured training course set by the DVSA, designed to ensure you can ride safely on the road.
The course is divided into 5 elements (A–E), and you must complete each element safely before progressing to the next.
Most riders complete all elements in one day. However, if you need more time to reach a safe standard, additional training may be required before continuing.
Our approach is simple:
we only progress you when you are ready — so you leave confident, not just completed.
Choosing the right training school makes a huge difference to your experience and confidence.
With us, you get:
We don’t rush riders through CBT — we train you properly so you’re ready for real-world riding.
That’s completely normal.
Most of our riders have never ridden before, and many feel nervous at the start. Our instructors specialise in building confidence step by step, at your pace.
👉 You’ll be supported from start to finish.
Not everyone completes CBT in one day — and that’s completely normal.
If you’re not ready to progress safely to the next element, we’ll explain exactly what you need to improve and guide you on the next steps.
This isn’t about failing — it’s about making sure you are safe and confident before moving forward.
We also offer a Premium CBT option with reduced group sizes for riders who want extra support and more personalised coaching.
We offer CBT training across multiple locations:

We will check your Uk driving license. You can provide your provisional or full UK driving license. If you have an EU license it will need to be accompanied by a UK counterpart using the D9 form at the post office or you can exchange your EU license for the UK one. If you can’t see the number plate from 20 meters away, you will need to have your eyesight corrected before you can attend the CBT again. If you have a code in your license 01 and can read the number plate using the glasses you will need to wear the glasses for the duration of the course and you will be able to complete the course.
How the syllabus works, what trainers should be able to show, the learning outcomes and assessment of skills. We will make sure to find out what is your experience to be able to better help you to achieve your objective for the day. We will explain what will happen on the day, with all the important safety briefs.
